We had an awesome time. The itinerary was well organized and the guides were very informative. Only disappointment was not being able to stay on some of the islands for very long. Two Islands a day at times was too short of time to explore and enjoy each one.

We really enjoyed our trip. The guide in Turkey was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and easily designed the tour to fit our desire to follow the Apostle Paul's 2nd missionary journey. The guide in Greece was extremely knowledgeable, almost overwhelmingly. The cruise guide was good, but was late two days in a row. The buffet food was repetitive. We hoped to experience a bit more local cuisine. The bus drivers were fantastic. The time allowed between flights in Istanbul was not nearly long enough. International connections should allow at least 2 hours. Thank you for putting together this very comprehensive and complicated itinerary.

It was a great trip. Well planned out and everything went smoothly. We really appreciate the assistance in Zurich with boarding passes on Sunair Express. "Bill" was an exceptional guide in Turkey. The guide in Greece was "ok" but didn't provide as good of a tour as in turkey and was not very approachable. We really appreciated all of your assistance and communication prior to departure. We would recommend the overall tour and your company to others.

*First off, I missed the group air fare and had to use the concierge service. I was alerted for the United flight check-in via email. I was able to check my bag for $40.00 from BOISE to SFO. At SFO the Turkish Air agent had no information for a checked bag and I was charged $190.00. He was astounded and said, "you paid that much for your ticket?" All my information from passport, email, and cell number were given for this trip, even the hotels in Greece and Turkey had them. Why no alert for my Turkey Air flights as to how many bags I would be checking in? (even though I had paid more money to have selected seating) *Shortly before the trip, Mayfair sent out information on Greece's "Tourism Sustainability Fee" that cost another $65. That information was made available by Greek law July 21, 2025, and printed for each cabin on the cruise. *Bilou (sp) our tour guide in Turkey and the 7 churches was amazing, knowledgeable, and a believer. He took interest in our prayer and worship time. He went out of his way to serve our group form arranging a birthday cake for our pastor's wife in Kusadasi on her birthday to mailing my postcards for me from Ephesus. (I brought international postcard stamps) *Then there is Greece. Our driver and tour guide were late. We had to wait quite a while at the Athens airport, putting us into our hotel late without an evening meal. Granted a cold plate of meat, cheese, fruit, boiled egg and breadstick were delivered to our rooms. Who wanted to eat that at 10pm. The front desk could not even get some requested milk and a banana (I needed some sleep and that is very helpful) Thankfully a man in our group went to the market next door and bought some milk, very delicious Greek whole milk. Our tour guide, Evie, was fine if you wanted a Greek history tour but there was no biblical knowledge. I would not recommend her for Paul's Missionary journey. *The hotel in Athens was changed but manageable but who closes a roof top pool with the Acropolis in the background at 6:30pm? Seriously? We put in 12,00 to 15,000 a day and wanted to swim at the end of the day. *Ephesus, & a Turkish rug class were scheduled twice? Not necessary at all. I believe we were told a refund would be due all. *The time on Crete was too long, and we would have been better served with a full day on Santorini. The cruise guide for Santorini was not well informed, and we were very disappointing that those of us who did not want the paid excursion were left off the tender boats last, waiting over 2 hours after our group disembarked. We all thought we would see the iconic Oia town but that was only if you chose the paid excursion. *I am not giving feedback to complain but hopefully this will be useful in the future. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the other areas that Paul walked and preached the Word in obedience to Christ and His calling. Sincerely, Ann C West

The itinerary and everything going to Turkey was excellent. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was superior and gave us a taste of the Culture. Would have liked to had more evening time to enjoy the hotel accommodations instead of just sleeping and leaving. Also in the packing list and things to know - it should have been stated that we needed to bring bathing caps and that the pool cost extra. It was disheartening to know I was lured by the excellent hotels BUT needed extra money and time to enjoy the pool. Other than paying for the pool and not enough time to enjoy, everything else in TURKEY was beyond what I expected and set the expectation for the Greece Portion of land trip. BUS Driver and GUIDE were Masters! Bill is excellent at giving a balance of knowledge, timely, friendly and respectful of our time for Pastor Troy to do our teachings. Bill is an excellent Guide and People person. We all felt important and respected on this portion of the trip, which led to a great disappointment when we switched to Eva in Greece. If I ever signed up to go again and had Eva as a Guide I would cancel. The Greece Portion of the trip started with us getting off the plane and she had sent the bus away to wait for us somewhere else. It was late and we were tired standing outside waiting for over 30 minutes for the bus to come back. Then we get to the hotel 10 PM, only to be repacked and out by 8 am and did not get supper - we had small plate of cold cuts placed in our room that we did not eat since it had been sitting out. SO no meal as promised for that hotel. Here in Greece we had to pay for our water. in Turkey Bill had a bottle of water for everyone everyday. When I asked about a bottle of water on the bus, Eva was snippy and told me it cost 50 cents. I believe I missed that part of her constant rude talking that i had to pay for the water on the bus, but still did not deserve to be sniped at - we all believed that by the end of the trip she HATED us.. Right away she set the tone and I was so glad to get away from her. Her constant talking was a Semester History class in 3 days - acted as if none of us were educated. I was exhausted, overwhelmed with the constant lecture and being treated like we are stupid humans. Most of us our educated and have some Greek History in our background. She talked sooooo much that she did not hand out the "whisper headsets" until AFTER we got to the first site, which then took up time for exploring and we were already eager to get off the bus as she handed them out and lectured on the use. Eva went to sites out of order and so choose to go to let us play on the beach site BEFORE going to next site. The group was prepared for other way around and was planning on end of day swimming and napping - not wet and uncomfortable the rest of the day. This Tour knew about group plans and permits were not asked for in advance to have guitar and 2 songs of worship at sites. Needless to say Guitar was carried to several sites or taken away at gate. Eva Talked so much standing at one place that it jeopardized the time left to explore the site and for Pastor Troy to give his teachings. Soon some of us began leaving the group so we could at least SEE the areas that we came to see. She then started making comments to other tour groups "Where has my group gone? They are so hard to keep together" . Passive aggressive behavior intending to let others know we were not under her control. She had NO consideration of the dynamics of the group and that some are older and not as mobile. When crossing the street ' She yelled at us: "Why cant you all cross the street at the same time?" Once again speaking down to us as if we are stupid. When we were at a historical site - she stood in the center of area that was impossible to get a picture without her in it (Unlike Bill who would give information from the side so we could get full view and pictures). Not only did we put up with Eva all day and exhausted with her consistent lecturing and hatred toward us, we go to a different hotel that was not on the agenda - not as nice as describe and the food was HORRIBLE, not even Greek. They seemed to feed us what they thought Americans eat - pork and beans and limited choice of food. Even for the hotel room we had to buy our water. so Happy to get out of there and onto Cruise. The guide to meet us for cruise - was NOT a guide. He only hosted; directed us from one place to the other when he didnt sleep in and forget about us. He even was upset after trip that we did not wait at ship dock outside of ship for group , BUT dock security had us move so we were not blocking other people getting off the ship or traffic of vehicles getting supplies to the ship. As a host he was not helpful. Why was Ephusus on agenda twice? When planning this tour it should have been caught that this was a duplicate. Will be waiting to get my refund of the cancelled trip. All Port fees were to be included and then we get there and have an Extra charge. This was NOT a last minute charge, this port fee increase was implemented in July 2025 - so this was NOT a sudden adjustment, but a hidden fee and extra charge for this trip. Knowing we had to go through security and navigate the Istanbul Airport, the flight scheduled was a tight transfer. With some of the elderly people running and trying to keep up to get to next flight was extreme hardship and I was very worried for their health. Overall, the experience was good for me to be with this group, hearing the teachings from Pastor Troy and having excellent group support surviving the time in Greece at last hotel and Eva. Enjoyed the group I was with and if I was to decide to travel with a group again, I will have to give it an extra thought to be sure that the guides they employ are truly professional and that the agenda allows more than sitting on a bus, adequate time at the sites to explore and being back to hotels so that we are not exhausted from one day to the next, and all guides to be like BIll in Turkey who made us feel like our money was well spent, no hidden fees and constant direct and passive disrespectful attitude from Eva. I have gone on other group tours in the past and if it wasn't for the Greece experience - I would have rated this a 5 star. Would like to get the reimbursement for the extra charges of the ports and the Ephesus Excursion that was cancelled. Evelyn Sartin 208-866-7993

This was a trip of a lifetime. All the hotels were wonderful, but one (Thessaloniki). Run down and very worn. The guides and bus drivers were wonderful. The sights amazing! This trip went beyond my expectations. I highly recommend using Stephen’s Gate for group tours. Fantastic job.

Michele from Mayfair travel booked our honeymoon to Greece and we couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Michele was so easy to work with and flexible with all of our accommodations in planning. She had been to Greece herself and was able to give us tips/recommendations. She’s the absolute best. Couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with!
