*First off, I missed the group air fare and had to use the concierge service. I was alerted for the United flight check-in via email. I was able to check my bag for $40.00 from BOISE to SFO. At SFO the Turkish Air agent had no information for a checked bag and I was charged $190.00. He was astounded and said, "you paid that much for your ticket?" All my information from passport, email, and cell number were given for this trip, even the hotels in Greece and Turkey had them. Why no alert for my Turkey Air flights as to how many bags I would be checking in? (even though I had paid more money to have selected seating)
*Shortly before the trip, Mayfair sent out information on Greece's "Tourism Sustainability Fee" that cost another $65. That information was made available by Greek law July 21, 2025, and printed for each cabin on the cruise.
*Bilou (sp) our tour guide in Turkey and the 7 churches was amazing, knowledgeable, and a believer. He took interest in our prayer and worship time. He went out of his way to serve our group form arranging a birthday cake for our pastor's wife in Kusadasi on her birthday to mailing my postcards for me from Ephesus. (I brought international postcard stamps)
*Then there is Greece. Our driver and tour guide were late. We had to wait quite a while at the Athens airport, putting us into our hotel late without an evening meal. Granted a cold plate of meat, cheese, fruit, boiled egg and breadstick were delivered to our rooms. Who wanted to eat that at 10pm. The front desk could not even get some requested milk and a banana (I needed some sleep and that is very helpful) Thankfully a man in our group went to the market next door and bought some milk, very delicious Greek whole milk. Our tour guide, Evie, was fine if you wanted a Greek history tour but there was no biblical knowledge. I would not recommend her for Paul's Missionary journey.
*The hotel in Athens was changed but manageable but who closes a roof top pool with the Acropolis in the background at 6:30pm? Seriously? We put in 12,00 to 15,000 a day and wanted to swim at the end of the day.
*Ephesus, & a Turkish rug class were scheduled twice? Not necessary at all. I believe we were told a refund would be due all.
*The time on Crete was too long, and we would have been better served with a full day on Santorini. The cruise guide for Santorini was not well informed, and we were very disappointing that those of us who did not want the paid excursion were left off the tender boats last, waiting over 2 hours after our group disembarked. We all thought we would see the iconic Oia town but that was only if you chose the paid excursion.
*I am not giving feedback to complain but hopefully this will be useful in the future. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the other areas that Paul walked and preached the Word in obedience to Christ and His calling.
Sincerely, Ann C West
