Once we arrive we’ll start our day with a guided tour of the stunning Papal Palace at Castel Gandolfo, a site of historical and architectural beauty that offers a unique glimpse into papal heritage.  In the afternoon, we’ll visit Anzio to explore its rich WWII history. Highlights include a moving visit to the cemetery and museum, followed by a reflective stop at the beach where we’ll honor those who bravely fought in this pivotal battle for our freedom. 

Overnight Rome / Castel Gandolfo area 1 night 

This morning we fly from Rome to Cagliari, Sardinia - flight included.

Arrival in Cagliari and lunch at a traditional Sardinian restaurant, where you’ll enjoy authentic local flavors. Afterwards, a local guide will lead us through Cagliari, the ancient city of Karalis, renowned since antiquity for its strategic location in the heart of the Mediterranean. This 3-hour guided tour will uncover the city’s historical charm and cultural significance. To end the day, we’ll enjoy a scenic visit to either the Molentargius Natural Park—an oasis near the city known for its saltworks and famous for nesting flamingos—or Poetto Beach, an expansive 8-kilometer stretch between Cagliari and Quartu Sant'Elena. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to capture stunning photos of the iconic 'Sella del Diavolo,' the rocky promontory dividing Poetto from Calamosca Beach.

Overnight Cagliari 

This morning depart for the scenic Sulcis region. Our first stop is the breathtaking Masua area, the perfect spot to admire and photograph the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain. Next, we’ll visit Porto Flavia, where we’ll step inside the remarkable mining tunnel (pictured)carved into the cliffs, offering unparalleled views of Sardinia’s stunning southwestern coast. We’ll continue to Gonnesa for a delicious lunch at a traditional restaurant. In the early afternoon, we’ll set off for Barumini to tour Su Nuraxi, Sardinia’s most impressive Nuragic complex and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll conclude the day in Orosei, where you’ll have time to enjoy dinner on your own and relax in this charming town.

After breakfast, we’ll set off in 4x4 vehicles with expert environmental guides to explore the ancient paths of the shepherds, including fascinating granite rock caves that once served as their dwellings. We’ll enjoy a traditional outdoor lunch with local shepherds, savoring an authentic Sardinian menu complemented by a performance of the Tenores, a traditional Sardinian choir recognized as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity. In the afternoon, we’ll stroll through the village to admire vibrant murals—a unique form of street art depicting social, political, and environmental themes.

After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the port of Palau and board the ferry to the beautiful island of La Maddalena. Here, we’ll enjoy a guided tour showcasing highlights like the Admiralty and the Naval Petty Officers' School, rich in maritime history. Following free time for lunch, we’ll continue to Caprera Island, accessible by bridge, to visit Garibaldi's House-Museum. This historic site holds cherished memories and artifacts of Garibaldi, Italy’s "Hero of the Two Worlds."

Overnight stay in Santa Teresa 1 night 

We’ll spend the morning driving along the stunning Costa Smeralda, a world-famous coastline developed in the early 1960s by Prince Karim Aga Khan. Along the way, we’ll pass through glamorous resorts, including Porto Cervo, a favorite destination for international VIPs. This afternoon we fly to Naples (flight included), ready to continue our journey in Sorrento, on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. From Naples we venture to the Royal Palace of Caserta and tour the amazing palace and its grounds.

Spend the day exploring the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, with visits to the charming town of Ravello, including entrances to the stunning Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, both offering unforgettable views.  Today's lunch will be table-to-farm - we're going to an agriturismo, a family-owned farm on the Amalfi Coast for an unforgettable meal where our hosts will make us feel like family.  Enjoy your final evening in the lovely coastal jewel, Sorrento.
